The son of a BJP leader has been detained on suspicion of killing a 19-year-old lady who was a receptionist at the resort he owned in the Yamkeshwar area of Pauri district. According to authorities, two resort staff were also detained in connection with the murder of the woman who had been missing for a few days.
The accused was revealed to be Pulkit Arya, the son of Haridwar-based BJP leader Vinod Arya, according to news outlet PTI. Moreover, Vinod Arya served as the previous head of the Uttarakhand Mati Kala Board. Although he has been given state minister status, he is not actively employed by the Uttarakhand government.
According to PTI, citing Pauri Additional Superintendent of Police Shekhar Chandra Suyal, in addition to resort owner Pulkit Arya, two other people, manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta, have been detained after confessing to having killed the missing girl and dumped her body into the Cheela Canal.
