Following the revelation of videos showing roughly 60 ladies having baths in the dorm, there was a significant uprising on the Chandigarh University campus. Police arrived at the scene and detained a female student who is suspected of producing the recordings and sending them to a kid in Shimla who published them online. At the Gharuan police station, a complaint has been opened under Sections 354 c of the IPC and the IT Act against the accused girl. According to investigators, the accused is a first-year MBA student.

The kids who were protesting were encouraged to settle down by education minister Harjot Singh Bains. “It’s a very sensitive matter & relates to dignity of our sisters & daughters. We all including media should be very very cautious, it is also test of ours now as a society,” he tweeted.

On Saturday night, hundreds of students descended upon the campus after what appeared to be a failure of negotiations with the authorities. According to several social media posts, the university administration attempted to cover up the incident.

Following the video leak, the police denied any incidents of death, injury, or suicide attempt. “It involves a video that was recorded by a female student and spread. The accused student has been taken into custody, and a FIR has been filed in the case. There have been no deaths associated with this occurrence. No attempt (to commit suicide) has been reported, according to medical data, said Mohali SSP Vivek Soni.

The girl who created the films and leaked them also confessed her crime in an unreliable video that has gone viral.
