On Wednesday at the Muscat International Airport, smoke began to emanate from an Air India Express flight from Muscat to Cochin. All passengers were immediately evacuated from the aircraft using slides.

According to authorities, smoke and fire were noticed in engine number 2 of the AI Express B737 (VT AXZ), which was flying as IX-442 from Muscat to Cochin. “We have evacuated every passenger (141 + 4 infants). There have been no injuries recorded, and they have been taken to the terminal building, according to a representative.
