On Monday, Bidya Devi Bhandari, the President of Nepal, bestowed the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army upon General Manoj Pande, the Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army. Pandey began a five-day official visit to Nepal on Sunday and arrived in Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, at the President’s official house, “Shital Niwas,” he was honoured during a special event. During the ceremony, a sword and scroll were also given to him. Naveen Srivastava, the Indian ambassador to Nepal, as well as other top officials from both nations attended the ceremony.

General Pande called President Bhandari after the ceremony. Ambassador Srivastava was by his side. According to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, General Pande expressed his gratitude to the President for the honour bestowed upon him and also spoke about ways to further strengthen their working relationship.
