Even though millions of people still struggle with long-term Covid and some nations continue to bear the brunt of the global health catastrophe, US President Joe Biden asserted that the Covid-19 pandemic is gone. On Sunday’s episode of “60 Minutes” on CBS, Biden said: “The epidemic has ended. Covid continues to be a concern for us. We’re still working hard on it. It’s, but the pandemic is over”. As he pointed to the crowd, Biden continued, “If you observe, nobody’s wearing masks. “Everyone appears to be in generally good health. Therefore, I believe it is altering.”

According to CNN, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US government both continue to list Covid-19 as a Public Health Emergency and a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, respectively.

“The number of reported cases and fatalities is continuing to drop worldwide. This is incredibly uplifting. However, there is no assurance that these patterns will continue. The biggest risk is assuming they’ll do it, ” he remarked. Even though the number of weekly reported deaths has decreased by more than 80% since February, Ghebreyesus emphasised that last week saw one Covid-19 death every 44 seconds. To end the pandemic, he asserted, “we have never been in a stronger position.”
